Kids' Test Kitchen: Cooking Class - Kids' Test Kitchen Do you have an aspiring chef at home that's always looking to help in the kitchen? This program is for you! Kids' Test Kitchen is on a mission to get eaters of all ages and abilities, cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients!We present kids the opportunity to explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, working as a team, they’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until they’ve prepared the finished dish. Class closes with opportunity to taste the result of their hard work. Students receive a printed recipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they can show off what they learned!Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation isencouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own. Lessons are planned to celebrate seasonal produce, whole grains, and legumes.Kids have food allergies, but they shouldn’t miss out on the fun. Coed Adult Basketball League - Team Registration Dates: Wednesdays, April 3rd-May 8th (Playoffs - May 15th & 16th)Time: Games start at 6:15pmEligibility: Ages 21+Location: Bourne Community Building GymFee: $55/resident $65/non-residentRegistration Deadline: Wednesday, March 6thThe game schedule will be available by March 13thThe first four team names to be registered will be entered into the system and available as a registration option. Each player on your team must complete the registration process. When team members register please ensure to click the drop down menu, and select the team you wish to be assigned to. To ensure an even number of teams, registration will be open for up to four teams. At that time we will take a waiting list. Once the waiting list reaches an additional two teams, they will be enrolled.Program Information: Because we are playing on the short court, game format will be 4v4.Games will consist of 2, twenty minute halves.Score will be kept, and games will be refereed.Games will be played on the side courts, two at a time.We will be using a 28.5 size basketball.Teams can roster up to 10 people and must have a minimum of 7 players.A minimum of 2 females must be registered to a team. Intro to Fencing - Intro to Fencing NEW DATES ADDED! Coach Jim is excited to be back in Bourne to teach students the skilled sport of fencing!Let's get ready for the Paris Summer Olympic Games! Bourne Rec is partnering with Owner and Head Coach of the Cape Cod Fencers Club, Jim Rose to offer intro to fencing. Fencing, often referred to as "Physical Chess" is a combat sport in which two competitors fight each other using very thin swords. The ends of the swords are covered and the competitors wear protective clothes, so that they do not hurt each other.Intro to Fencing will focus on hand-eye coordination, balance, and quick reflexes. Jim will provide full fencing gear (a face mask, jacket, and fencing glove) for all participants to borrow during this program.
